Edina High School, Valley View Middle School and Creek Valley School Area – Currently, City staff is performing a study for potential improvements for this area (Gleason Road, Valley View Road and Tracy Avenue). A previous traffic study prepared by a consultant for Edina Public Schools is currently being updated with traffic data gathered in December 2005. A preliminary layout has been developed and reviewed by the Transportation Commission, adjacent residents and school representatives. Staff is currently revising/developing a final concept layout, implementation plan and final plans. Additionally, a federal funding application under the Safe Routes to School program has been approved for funding portions of the project.

West 70th Street/Cornelia Area (Highway 100 to France Avenue) – SRF Consulting Group, Inc., has been hired to perform a Corridor Study from Highway 100 to France Avenue to develop possible solutions for transportation and land use issues within the corridor.

A Study Advisory Committee has been formed that includes corridor residents, business owners and the members of the Transportation and Planning commissions. The study is expected to be complete by the spring of 2008.

Northeast Edina Area – The Northeast Edina Traffic Study was approved by Council on Nov. 6, 2006. Implementation of the study's recommendations will begin 2008-2009 in conjunction with the reconstruction of the Country Club neighborhood.
